Over 400+ families assisted: A year of unity, impact, & hope

By Dax Manetta, Parker Project Community Ambassador

A Year Full of Memorable Moments

Thanks to the collective efforts of our community, over 400+ families assisted across almost 300 cities in 41 states. Every number represents a family touched by compassion, a burden lifted, and hope restored.

As a proud community ambassador for Parker Project, I’m thrilled to share the incredible accomplishments we’ve achieved together in 2024. This year has been one of growth, resilience, and unwavering support for families navigating the challenges of childhood cancer.

From community events to impactful programs, 2024 showcased the power of coming together for a cause. Here are some highlights from the year:

Trivia Brunch with The Spot

In February, we joined forces with The Spot in Phoenix, AZ, for a lively World Cancer Day  Trivia Brunch. This event brought together people from all walks of life for a day of fun and learning while raising vital funds for our mission. Read more about the event here.

The 1st Annual Car Wash

Spring saw the launch of our 1st Annual Car Wash in Scottsdale, AZ. What started as a simple community event quickly turned into a shining example of teamwork and generosity. Together, we raised funds that directly benefited families in need. Learn more about the car wash here.

Mother’s Day Celebration with Kendra Scott

In May, we celebrated the strength of mothers with a special Mother’s Day event in partnership with Kendra Scott. This heartfelt day highlighted the courage and resilience of moms who stand by their children during the toughest of times. Check out the event recap here.

Holiday Housing Relief Program

The holiday season brought the launch of our Holiday Housing Relief Program, providing critical support to families struggling with housing costs. This initiative ensured that families could focus on what truly matters: being there for their children. Read about this program here.

Snooze Eatery Partnership

This year, our partnership with Snooze Ahwatukee made a significant impact, paving the way for future events and deeper community involvement. Their support and collaboration have been invaluable in helping us raise awareness and funds for families battling childhood cancer.

We’re incredibly excited about what’s on the horizon for 2025 as we continue to strengthen this partnership and explore new opportunities to engage with our amazing community.

Stretching for Donations

This year, we teamed up with the Bouldering Project in Tempe for a donation-based yoga class that combined wellness with giving back. The event brought together individuals passionate about both health and making a difference, raising funds to support families battling childhood cancer.

The positive energy and community spirit at this event were truly inspiring, and we look forward to partnering again in the future to continue creating impactful moments like this.

The Heart of Our Work: Families We Support

This year, the heartfelt feedback and testimonials from the families we’ve supported have been truly uplifting. Their stories reaffirm our mission and inspire us to aim even higher. Hearing their words of gratitude and hope has been profoundly moving. One of the many heartfelt messages came from Andrea T., Phoebe’s mom, who shared about our Holiday Housing Relief Program:

“This is HUGE. Thank you really doesn’t put our gratitude into words. Parker Project has saved my family more than once now and we are forever grateful. Please go to bed tonight knowing that you have made a small little family of 4 in Ohio VERY happy this Christmas.”

Stories like these remind us why we do what we do and fuel our determination to continue making a difference.

Looking Forward to 2025

over 400+ families assisted since 2001

As we head into 2025, we are already looking ahead to an even more impactful year. Our goal is to expand our reach, support more families, and create new opportunities for communities to come together in the fight against childhood cancer.

None of this would be possible without you. Whether you attended an event, made a donation, or simply shared our mission, your support fuels our work.

Thank you for standing with Parker Project this year. Together, we are making a difference—one family, one city, one state at a time. Here’s to another year of hope and impact!
